Union Tool established the Sustainability Committee for the purpose of contributing to resolving social sustainability issues from the three-pronged perspective of the environment, society, and governance. The president and COO serves as the chairman of the Committee while the members mainly consist of directors and executive officers with good understanding of each department and who are appointed by the chairman. The Sustainability Committee compiles and evaluates issues related to sustainability across the entire Group. The Committee is tasked with formulating measures to ensure effectiveness, issuing instructions related to the execution of the measures and supervising their implementation, submitting proposals to the Board of Directors, and reporting on the activities as needed.
